THE, USE MOST ANYWHERE, DROP-SHEET, PONCHO, TARP, OR GARBAGE BAG, SHELTER

For warmth and ease of construction, this shelter is also one of the best. When shelter is essential to survival, it is a wise choice. basically it is just a small burrow or cave, much the same as used by many of the Mother's creations that are born wild and free; but it is much safer for a human to inhabit than a natural "found" cave would be.
To Make This Shelter:
  • Preferably, find a low spot or depression (it is a heck of a lot less work). If necessary, dig a trench or pit long and wide enough for you to lie in comfortably.
  • Pie the material that you have dug out, or other such material, to form a mound around three sides.
  • On the open end of the trench, dig out more material so that you can get in and out of your shelter easily.
  • Place small logs or any other suitable material across the width of the trench to form support beams.
  • Cover the support beams with a tarp, or garbage/trash bags.
  • Cover the bags with 6 to 8 inches of any available insulating material.
